London, UK, 21 September 2026 Visiongain has launched an independent primary research study examining the capabilities, requirements and constraints shaping US drone manufacturing.
The study is Commissioned by Manufacturing Technology Deployment Group (MTDG), the parent organization of the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM), who manage the America Makes program for the US Department of War.  Visiongain’s analysts are gathering first-hand perspectives from organisations involved in building, supplying, operating and supporting drone systems across the United States.
The research comes as procurement requirements, cybersecurity expectations and supply-chain pressures are changing what it takes to manufacture and sustain trusted drone systems at scale.
Visiongain is conducting confidential interviews with senior industry participants, including US drone manufacturers (OEMs) and Drone Service Providers (DSPs), alongside specialists across manufacturing, engineering, procurement, supply chain, sustainment, quality and cybersecurity.
The study will examine where current US manufacturing capabilities are strong, where organisations are encountering practical constraints, and what manufacturers and operators require from the domestic supply base as the industry scales.
Visiongain is inviting qualified US drone industry participants to contribute through a confidential interview led by experienced SME’s.
For OEMs, the research will explore manufacturing capacity, component and supplier availability, production constraints, procurement requirements, cybersecurity, sustainment and the challenges associated with scaling trusted domestic production.
For Drone Service Providers (DSPs), the research will examine the experience of procuring, deploying and sustaining drone systems, including platform availability, trusted supply, cybersecurity, support and the capabilities required from manufacturers and the wider domestic supply base.
Interviews are confidential, and individual responses will not be attributed to participants or their organisations. The research is evidence-led and does not assume a particular solution. Its findings and recommendations will be determined by the experiences, requirements and priorities reported by participating organisations.
Qualified US industry participants can apply here to take part in the study.
